Tommy Shaughnessy
Tommy has been involved in dancing since the age of 10. He was Juvenile, Junior & Amateur Champion in Standard & Latin.
In 1976 he turned professional, took his professional exams and opened his first dance school.
In 1986 Tommy moved to Boston, USA, where he managed and owned two dance studios. The Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios awarded him "Manager of the Year" on 4 occasions during that time. He also co-organiser of the famous "Yankee Classic" DanceSport Championships while in Boston.
Tommy returned to Ireland in 1995 and co-founded the All Ireland Dance Federation, became an Examiner with the United Kingdom Alliance and 2000 hosted the 1st Celtic Classic DanceSport Championships.

Nowadays, Tommy has an extremely busy schedule travelling world-wide teaching, judging, examining, and carrying out his duties as the new
IPSDC Sports Director.
