June 1st, 2008, IPDSC European Professional Standard Championship - 2008 was held for the first time in Ukraine in "ACCO International" Exhibition Center, situated in the centre of Kyiv - capital of Ukraine. 14 couples from Austria, Georgia, Italy, Russia and Ukraine took part in this important event. The panel of adjudicators was:

Official opening of the Championship begins at 4 pm. Accompanied by Ukrainian hits, professional couples - participants came out for parade, holding national flags of the countries they were representing. There was a ceremonial representation of each professional couple and adjudicators of the Championship.
Organizers: Irena Bous' (UDB President) and Dmytro Bazela (UDB Vice-president, President of Children Dance Sport Club "Kaleidoscope") welcomed all the participants and guests of the Championship. Performance of Ukrainian national anthem became the apotheosis of the Opening ceremony.
Professional couples-participants were of high professional level. After a very good performance from all the couples, results were:

6th place Maurizio Circelli - Carolina Tassi (Italy)
A hall welcomed winners upright under the national anthem of Russia. The European Champions - 2008 Alexey Galchun - Tatiana Demina danced their dance of winners - foxtrot.
At the ceremonial dinner after the Championship, couples and adjudicators thanked organizers for holding the Championship at the highest professional level and emphasized, that this was really ceremonial official event and they are proud to be participants of this Championship.
